Flexible working for families

Our people shape our Co-op’s success, and that’s why we offer flexible working to help our team balance work with whānau life. Whether it’s school pick-ups or special family milestones, we believe in supporting our people to be present for what matters most. 

We know flexibility looks different for everyone, so we aim to provide inclusive and adaptable work practices that support productivity, collaboration and wellbeing. On our production sites, flexibility may vary due to collective agreements, but similar options may be available. 

Supporting families to get the best start

Our parental leave policy reflects our commitment to care and connection. Guided by whanaungatanga and manaakitanga, we support parents through this important life chapter. 

Eligible primary caregivers receive parental leave payments topped up to 100% of base salary or wages for 26 weeks, and a one-off KiwiSaver contribution for the unpaid period on return. We also provide two weeks’ paid partner leave, taken anytime within 12 months of a new child’s arrival. 

We know the transition back can be a juggle, so we provide wraparound support to help returning parents adjust and thrive.
